“Forever Magnifique” questions:

  • 1) Will any of your antiaging facials such as “Forever Magnifique” sensitize my skin, leaving it red and inflamed?
  • Answer: All of our facials are created to be effective and non-sensitizing on all skin types including ultra-sensitive. While extraction facials can leave some sensitivity, “Forever Magnifique” does not. A healthy facial glow with smooth and highly energized skin is to be expected and is the goal of any KLSC antiaging treatments.
  • 2) For how long after my “Forever Magnifique” facial can I expect to feel and see improvement?
  • Answer: Everyone is different and your general health, daily habits and hygiene will always play a factor in skin response. Most people will feel and see improvement for up to one week post facial service while on a molecular level your body will continue to respond for weeks to come.
  • 3) Can I receive a “Forever Magnifique” facial anywhere else?
  • Answer: No. “Forever Magnifique” is our trademarked facial service, the only one of its kind in the US that provides 6 different FDA approved technologies for gentle exfoliation and effective collagen/elastin growth with muscle toning.
  • 4) How many days before an event should I schedule my “Forever Magnifique” treatment?
  • Answer: You should try to schedule your treatment for the day before the event, which is when your “facial glow” will come from the inside. If that is not possible, please schedule within 7 days of your event for maximum radiance.
  • 5) I’m getting married in 7 months, should I book my appointments for “Forever Magnifique’s?”
  • Answer: Yes. When you arrive for your first appointment, your therapist will analyze your skin, speak to you about lifestyle, habits, goals and budget. Then the best schedule for your facials will be mapped out and is subject to change as your skin changes. We work closely with you to provide exactly what you need within each customized appointment therefore there is no need to “book” any other facial.
  • 6) Are extractions included in “Forever Magnifique?”
  • Answer: No. Over the course of 3 years of testing, extractions with this much technology can be too sensitizing to the surface of the skin. If there are any obvious whiteheads, it is solely at the expertise and judgment of your therapist as to which can be extracted and which cannot. If you feel that you definitely need extractions but want the antiaging technological treatment, then we will change your facial to a “Metamorphosis” or whichever facial is most appropriate for you.
  • 7) I’m getting married next week, can one “Forever Magnifique” be beneficial?
  • Answer: Definitely! We prepare clients for Red Carpet, black tie and milestone private events on a regular basis. Many of our clients fly in just a few times a year for events and they receive their treatment the day before the event.
  • 8) How do I know if I need a 60 or 90 minute “Forever Magnifique?”
  • Answer:  Your therapist will help you determine which timing of treatment you need. “Forever Magnifique” was originally developed at 90 minutes for people with more pronounced signs of expression and/or loose skin in areas such as the neck. 60 minutes does a wonderful job of maintaining results and also for younger skin as a preventative alternative to facial injectable. * We do have many clients that for different reasons chose to receive the 60 minute treatment and although it took longer to reach cumulative results, they now enjoy beautiful, strong and healthy skin.
  • 9) What is the difference between the 60, 90 and the “a la carte complete” treatment?
  • Answer: The protocol (steps to the facial treatment) is exactly the same regardless of the time. The only difference is the length of time each machine is used. The need for longer or shorter time is determined by your therapist, depending on your skin condition and needs.
  • 10) Is “Forever Magnifique” OK to receive after facial injections and/or plastic surgery?
  • Answer: Yes. “Forever Magnifique” is completely synergistic with any facial injectable and also post plastic surgery. The technology used in “Forever Magnifique” builds up the strength of the skin. Any time that you strengthen the matrix, you will prolong the results of surgery and also extend the life of your injectable!
  • 11) How long does it take to produce new collagen?
  • Answer: Scientific testing shows that it takes the body approximately 3 months for new collagen production to come to fruition. This makes it extremely important to keep up regular monthly treatments, especially within the first 3-4 months.
  • 12) I definitely want to maintain my skin at optimal levels but I’m not independently wealthy. I know you have preset packages but can you work on a special package for me?
  • Answer: Yes, we definitely enjoy providing specialized packages that meet all of your needs.

Men’s Facials:

  • 1) Can men get any KLSC facial and is there a specific “men’s” facial?
  • Answer: Yes, men can receive any KLSC treatment. We provide a specific men’s facial, “Bel Homme – Beautiful Man” and it provides amazing and relaxing modern technology to build strong and healthy skin with all of the goodness from a classic European facial, all in one relaxing service.
  • 2) I’m a man with facial hair. Do I need to shave prior to my facial?
  • Answer: While exposed skin is best for antiaging technology, it is a personal choice on whether to shave or not. It is not necessary unless you want full effect for antiaging.
  • 3) How often should a guy get a facial?
  • Answer: Men and women should ideally receive a professional facial once every 4-6 weeks. This keeps the skin in optimal health and wellness.
  • 4) Do I need different products than women?
  • Answer: Everyone needs targeted skin care products regardless of age, sex, race and color. Your therapist will provide a detailed list of products used in your customized facial and will guide you in exactly what you need to do at home to maintain and improve your results.

General Facial & Body Questions:

  • 1) How do I know which facial I need to book if I’m not already a client?
  • Answer: *Cancer patients should seek professional skin care starting from 6 months post chemo and/or radiation with physician permission. Our “Holistic Au Naturel” is the best place to start. Once the skin is evaluated we can strengthen the matrix with other collagen/elastin building facials. The best thing to do if you do not have a lot of acne is to book the “Au Naturel” facial. It is simply the most advanced “basic” facial in NYC, providing antiaging Ultrasound and high tech, gentle Ultrasonic resurfacing along with general extractions without the incredibly elevated prices seen elsewhere. Once you arrive, fill in your intake form and speak to your esthetician while she is analyzing your skin, you will be guided to exactly the service that you need. Men and women with more than just a few acne lesions should book the “Exempte de Bacteries – acne facial” and those that main purpose is antiaging should book a “Forever Magnifique.”
  • 2) Can I add a Peel to my service?
  • Answer: Depending on your skin type, skin care goal and condition, yes. This is one of the only “add on” services we feature, although many of our facials do already include a gentle organic peel (which you can opt out of) for no extra charge. There are other peels available and your esthetician will guide you in this matter.
  • 3) Are all the machines used FDA approved therapies?
  • Answer: Yes, we do not provide any non-FDA approved therapies.
  • 4) I don’t have a lot of whiteheads but I do have a lot of congestion and blackheads, do I need the “Exempte de Bacteries – acne facial?”
  • Answer: Yes. Our acne facial is for clearance of the entire face.
  • 5) Is there anything I should do before my facial?
  • Answer: Yes. If you’re using Retin-A or topical antibiotics, we do prefer if you don’t use them for one day prior to your facial appointment. There is no need to exfoliate (scrub) prior to your appointment. For ALL CHEMICAL PEEL SERVICES it is imperative that no forms of Retin-A, retinols or any form of antibiotics are used.
  • 6) What would be the ideal prep for a facial?
  • Answer: No Retin-A, prior peels or topical and/or oral antibiotics for 2 weeks prior to your facial and no retinols for one week prior. None of the following for two days prior: Exfoliating manual scrubs, enzyme peeling agents, ultrasonic or rotary brushes, other facial services, glycolic or salicylic acid washes or masks. * If you did do or use one or more of these, you can still receive our facial services but some peels will not be able to be performed. Each person and skin will be individually evaluated; the machine settings and products will be set and picked out especially for you, ensuring that you receive the maximum benefit without irritation.
  • 7) Do you provide boyzilian services?
  • Answer: Not at this time.
  • 8) What if I do not follow my prescribed post-facial treatment plan?
  • Answer: Your personal treatment plan is designed based on your intake form information on general health, lifestyle, skin issues and concerns, your skin care goals and what your skin needs. This is a guide for you to receive the best facial response in the shortest amount of time.
  • 9) How long should one wait after getting fillers/botox after a facial?
  • Answer: 3 weeks no matter what your physician says. We have a number of Allergan reps (Allergan is the creator of Botox injectable) that come to us for facials and they say 3 weeks. This is because we cannot actually break down any injectable with our non-invasive technology but we can stimulate enough lymphatic drainage that can shorten the lifespan of your injectable. If you let injectables settle for 3 weeks, our facials will prolong the life of your injectable. Or those that choose to incorporate injectables into their antiaging program, our technological, collagen building facials make it less necessary to go more than once or twice per year.
  • 10) How long should one plan to go to the beach or being out in the sun before a facial?
  • Answer: Direct and concentrated sun exposure will accelerate the aging process. Pre and post facial it is ideal to not have any beach or laying out time for 2 weeks. (Before and after) Many people unfortunately will not abide by this so wait at least 48 hrs, always wear sunblock, reapply every 2-3 hrs and after swimming or sweating plus wear a hat and sunglasses.

Exempte de Bacteries – the Acne Facial:

  • 1) Will the acne facial be too aggressive for my skin?
  • Answer: Our extraction methods are gentle and effective. Our acne facial includes the most advanced FDA approved methods to kill P.acnes (bacteria that causes breakouts) and to purify the existing skin conditions. Whether in a physician’s office or ours, this gentle energy takes time to take full effect. Some lingering puffiness and/or pinkness at the extraction sites may occur post facial and upon waking you should expect to see calm skin that will continue to improve throughout the week. Each case of acne breakout is highly individual and each person will see changing responses so it is of utmost importance to adhere to your prescribed method, timing of follow-up appointments and suggested skincare regimen.
  • 2) I don’t have a lot of whiteheads but I do have a lot of congestion and blackheads, do I need the “Exempte de Bacteries – acne facial?”
  • Answer: Yes. Our acne facial is for clearance of the entire face.
  • 3) Can I add a Peel to my service?
  • Answer: Depending on your skin type, skin care goal and condition, yes. This is one of the only “add on” services we feature, although many of our facials do already include a gentle organic peel (which you can opt out of) for no extra charge. There are other peels available and your esthetician will guide you in this matter.
  • 4) I feel that I need guidance with my personal daily and eating habits. Can you help me with that?
  • Answer: Yes, we always help you with easy and effective ways to improve your skin from the inside out. We also work closely with a certified Health Coach and can refer you to other professional therapists if necessary.

Peel Questions:

  • 1) What should I know prior to my peel?
  • Answer: Prior to receiving a peel, no Retin-A, retinols, acid washes oral or topical antibiotics for two weeks before and after your peel. No retinol’s for preferably 24hrs prior to an organic peel. Please call if you are taking any sun-sensitizing medications as these will make you ineligible for a peel while under treatment and for varying weeks thereafter.
  • 2) What type of Peels do you currently offer?
  • Answer: We currently offer different Certified organic peels, Glycolic gel peel, Alpha/Beta peel and ReJuve modified Jessner’s peel.
  • 3) Is there “downtime” necessary with any of your peels?
  • Answer: No. While the “Rejuve” Peel will create a flaking effect for 4-10 days (results vary with each individual) and it is always a necessity to avoid any concentrated sun exposure or exposure sans sunblock, there is technically no downtime necessary with any of our peels.
  • 4) Can I go straight to the gym after my peel?
  • Answer: It is not recommended to work out after any peel but especially not after a “ReJuve” peel.
  • 5) What kind of after-care is necessary?
  • Answer: Each peel and your skin are different. You will receive instructions that pertain directly to your skin post treatment. For all peels, absolutely no direct sun exposure and no sun exposure of any kind without sun block and preferably a hat is required.

LED light therapy Questions:

  • 1) Does LED light therapy hurt?
  • Answer: No, LED light therapy is painless. Unlike IPL or Laser therapy which produce thermal damage and pain through heat, (both invasive therapies) LED is non-invasive therefore comfortable.
  • 2) Does LED light therapy affect the color of my skin?
  • Answer: No, LED is the only light therapy that does not interact with melanin therefore will not change the color of your skin.
  • 3) Is LED light therapy harmful to my health?
  • Answer: LED light is 100% natural with no known negative side effects.
  • 4) Who cannot receive LED light therapy?
  • Answer: LED, as with all technological therapy, is basically a procedure for generally healthy people. Persons with severe life threatening disease, epilepsy, photophobia, pregnant or planning to become pregnant and anyone taking photosensitizing medications should not receive LED therapy. Persons with diabetes and damaged skin should work closely with their therapist to insure comfortable and effective treatment.
  • 5) How does LED work in treating my acne?
  • Answer: LED Blue light therapy is used by physicians and skin experts to kill overgrowth of P. acnes bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) that reside deep within follicles and pores. When clogged pores stimulate an overgrowth of this bacterium, acne conditions worsen. Blue LED light creates singlet oxygen production and P. acnes bacterium cannot survive in an oxygenated environment and are also light sensitive.
  • 6) If Blue LED light therapy is predominantly used to kill P. acnes bacterium, why do you use Red light and sometimes just Red with Infrared light therapy during my LED acne treatments?
  • Answer: Each person’s skin condition is unique and also ever-changing. At KLSC your individual treatment program is constantly adjusted to provide you with maximum effect. Also, Red/IR collagen/elastin stimulating and healing effects are necessary in remodeling acne scars and keeping tissues healthy. Remember, P. acnes bacterium are light sensitive therefore although not its main objective, Red and IR LED light therapy has antibacterial benefits in continuing treatment of acneic conditions.
  • 7) What if my acne gets worse during treatment?
  • Answer: While it is common while treating any condition of the body and/or skin to see a “detoxifying” effect in the beginning, when treatment programs, personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle habits are followed, many acneic conditions will improve throughout the course of treatment. In very rare cases specifically involving cystic acne, a very small percentage of people will not see improvement. You and your therapist will work closely together to determine when to continue or stop LED therapy.
  • 8) If I’m receiving LED treatments that are not combined with other technology, how soon will I see results?
  • Answer: While everyone is different and therefore will experience different results at different times, final results may not be apparent for several weeks after your treatment series is complete.
